Adarsha Secondary School is located in Thulibheri Municipality, Dolpa, Karnali Province which was established in 2039 B.S (1983 A.D.) with the initiation of local academicians, social workers and donors. They realized the need to educate their children, and, as a result, this school was set up in an open ground in Eastern part of Juphal Airport. It was established in 2028 B.S. as a primary school. In 2037 B.S. this school was upgraded to lower secondary level and in 2039 B.S. to secondary level. This school has been able to be a leading community school in Dolpa district and has been playing a significant role in the development of quality education. It has been able to be an "A Grade School" because of its proper management, quality education and dedicated teachers. In 2062 B.S. it was upgraded to 12th Grade. Many students, including poor as well as students from the remote areas, are studying in this school. It is one of the leading community schools. Adarsha Secondary school offers both general and technical education. In general, we have been running classes from ECD to Grade XII to materialize its mission to impart practical and real-life education. Since 2069, this school has been offering 18-month TSLC Program (equivalent to JTA) as ANNEX program of CTEVT. Besides, we also provide 3-Year I. Sc. Ag. Diploma program with well facilitated infrastructures and multipurpose playground within its premises. Since 2074, this school is carrying co- education and special education classes to hostel students with the capacity of accommodating 100 students. Currently, about 700 students are studying in this school, and, it is the largest number of students among community schools of Dolpa. The students of this school appeared in SLC in 2042 B.S for the first time and currently about one hundred students appear SEE every year. Regarding current human resources, thirty teaching and five non-teaching staffs are serving in this school. The true vision of this school is inculcating a sound human formation for the total development of the whole person, making the students, staff and parents well integrated person spiritually, socially, intellectually, morally and culturally, helping them to become aware of their own dignity and destiny along with the responsibility for the right use of liberty. We are always thirsty to collaborate with concerned authorities to build sophisticated society and prosperous nation. We provide quality education to our students through a variety of teaching methods and approaches, both inside and outside the classroom. Beside conventional pedagogy, our methods include extra curricular activities like motion, drama, discussion, role-playing, group work and co-operative learning. Primarily, our education is based on 'Learning by Doing'. We enhance analytical problem solving skills - handling problems in a logical way without facile or emotional judgments, multi-cultural skills and abilities to deal with people of different cultural backgrounds - great urgency in the era of globalization that brings different people together in the same environment. Our resources include internet, charts, maps, audio visual recordings, posters, etc.
